Officials have released the name of a man killed in a two vehicle accident in rural Linn County.
The accident happened Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of Hill's Mill Road and Upper Boulder Road rural Prairieburg, just east of Coggon.
A passenger vehicle had been traveling southbound on Hill's Mill Road when it collided with a fertilizer spreader that had been traveling westbound on Upper Boulder Road.
The driver of the passenger vehicle, Nicholas Aberle, 20, of Troy Mills, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the fertilizer spreader, Steven Oberreuter, 56, of Manchester, was flown by LifeGuard Air Ambulance to St Lukes Hospital for what was believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
There were no other occupants in either vehicle.
The accident remains under investigation by the Linn County Sheriff's Office with the assistance of the Marion Police Department Accident Investigation Team and the Linn County Medical Examiners Office.
