Our Princess Mercy was an amazing girl with Down Syndrome who so bravely battled Leukemia since she was first diagnosed in November 2011.

Her mom's friends and coworkers have been very concerned for her mom, Kim, who despite her best efforts to hide it, is actually human and is in desperate need of some tender loving care herself. Her husband has been caring for Mercy full time, along with help from her siblings, and Kim has been working to pay the family's' bills through all of the ups and downs of this heart wrenching journey. We have been raising money for Kim to be able to take off from work to be with Mercy at the end of her life and for her to have the time for herself to grieve now.

For those who don't know, Kim is someone who will take the shirt off of her back for someone else in need and go without, with a smile on her face. She has put everything into her work as a Special Education Liaison daily, despite sleepless nights living at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia with Mercy for extended stays, not knowing what the next day will bring, waiting anxiously for doctor's phone calls, etc. Her heart wanted to be with Mercy full time, but she had an obligation to her family and to her job - both of which she has always taken very seriously. The time finally came for Kim to be with Mercy as much as possible, with peace of mind that her job is secure and her bills will be taken care of. Friends, family and even those of you who have never met Kim, gave this gift to her. Thank you so much for your support, it has meant more to Kim and her family than can ever be expressed.
