Randall Patrick McCoy, 16, of N.C. Highway 150 South, Linwood, passed away Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013, at his home after several years of declining health.

A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Davidson Funeral Home by the Rev. Sam Harvey. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and other times at the home.

Randall was born March 4, 1997, in Forsyth County to Carl Danny Shelhorse Jr. and Mary Louise McCoy. He was a student at Stoner-Thomas School, of the Baptist faith and a great fan of the North Carolina Tar Heels. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sam and Evelyn Dayton and Henry and Maxine Gaydon.

Surviving are his mother, Mary McCoy Godwin (Daniel) of the home; grandparents who helped raise him, Henry and Sharon McCraw of the home; father Carl Danny Shelhorse Jr.,(Amy) of Delco; grandparents Jim and Katherine Beasley of Reidsville and Carl Danny Shelhorse Sr. of Bassett, Va.; half brother Justin Michael Latham of Lexington; aunt Sandy McCoy Foster of Linwood; and uncle Vince McCoy II of Kansas.
