Cole Bostwick didn't suffer, according to his father.

Tim Bostwick watched the logging carriage that fell and crushed his son to death in Lewis County Wednesday morning.

"I don't know what happened," said Tim Bostwick, "I just know the carriage came out of the sky."

The Bostwicks worked for ENB Logging and Trucking.

When Cole Bostwick turned 18 last fall, his parents said he dropped out of high school to work as a logger to help support the family.

"He knew we were stressing with bills," said mother Wendy Bostwick.

Cole Bostwick re-enrolled in school this spring and planned on graduating next month.

"He was preparing for his life and doing a good job of it," said Tim Bostwick.

He does not know if the accident was mechanical or human-caused.

The state's Department of Labor and Industries is investigating the cause of the accident.
