Long-Time Atlantic resident Kandi (Keasey) Wehrli, 49: died June 14, 2014 after battling complications from Gall Bladder Surgery, at Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic, IA. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and daughter.
Kandi was born March 22, 1965 in Council Bluffs to Richard L. Keasey and Sandra M. (Madsen) Luke.
She attended Atlantic High School and finished in 1983. She married Richard Wehrli on June 29, 1984 in Council Bluffs, IA.
She lived in and around Southwest Iowa. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Cass County Memorial Hospital from 1993 to 2001. She also worked as a caregiver at REM Iowa and Cass Incorporated. She moved to the Omaha area in 2011.
She enjoyed family, camping, fishing, caring for others, and making people laugh.
Her children wrote that her legacy will be remembered forever. Her strong-will and compassion were an inspiration. She cared deeply for others and would have generously sacrificed anything in love. We will miss her very much.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Jessica Wehrli, grandchildren Gabriella and Eliza of Omaha; daughter and significant other Misty Wehrli and Josh Hemminger, grandson and granddaughter Landyn Hemminger and Avah Hemminger of Atlantic; daughter Pagie Wehrli of Council Bluffs; and daughter Samantha Wehrli of Red Oak, expecting granddaughter; mother and step-father Sandi and Charles Luke, father and step-mother Richard and Linda Keasey; brother and sister-in-law Ricky Keasey and Cathy Lang of Anita; sister and friend Amy (Keasey) Coatney and Mick Daganaar of Atlantic; brother and sister-in-law Kevin and Tina (Pangburn) Keasey of Atlantic; brother and sister-in-law Toby and Trisha (McBride) Keasey of Temple, Texas; sister Angie Keasey of Atlantic, brothers Eric and R.L. Keasey of Atlantic; step-brother Charlie Luke of Ida Grove; and step-sister Sherri Riggs of Denton, NC. She is also survived by her separated spouse Richard Wehrli, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A remembrance service and luncheon will be held at Cold Springs State Park in Lewis, IA on June 17, 2014 at 11 AM. Her final resting place will be at the Atlantic Cemetery. -
