Funeral services for Mr. Dayyon Lewis "Dirt" Baum, age 34, will be conducted on Monday, July 14, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Trinity AME Zion Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6-7:30 at Pratt Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Baum passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Lexington Medical Center. Born in Newberry County he was the son of Pedro Baum and Marie Ann Whitener Baum. He was a member of Trinity AME Zion Church where he was the Lay Person of the Year. He was a graduate of Whitmire High School class of 1999. Surviving in addition to his mother and father are his daughter, Ragen McKenzie; sister, Demika K. Baum both of Whitmire, SC; maternal grandmother, Goldie Whitener; paternal grandmother, Helen Baum; God-mother, Laurette Hodges; six aunts, two uncles and a host of other relatives.
