Thomasina D. Schultz, 37, passed away peacefully on Friday evening , Aug. 9, 2013 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Troy on October 29, 1975, she was the daughter of Deborah Schultz of Troy. Lifelong city resident , Thomasina was educated in the Troy schools and following high school, she trained and became a Certified Nursing Assistant and enjoyed a career at the Eddy Heritage House until she became ill several years ago. In her free time she enjoyed being with her sisters socializing and "clubbing, she enjoyed music and having a good time. Her greatest joy in her life was her son, Javion, and she devoted her life to him and was an avid fan of his sports endeavors, attended all his basketball games, and was so proud of his accomplishments. She was a wonderful daughter, mother, sister, niece, aunt, cousin and friend to many and will be greatly missed by all. Survivors in addition to her mother include her beloved son Javion Ogunyemi of Troy; devoted sisters Tiama Schultz and Courtney Graves; special brothers Travis (Jeanette) Schultz and Neil Graves, all of Troy; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends and colleagues . A celebration of Thomasina's life will be held on Thursday, Aug. 15th at the Doran Funeral Home, 9 South Lake Avenue, Troy where friends and relatives are invited and may call from 4-7 pm . A prayer will be said at the conclusion of the calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Javion Ogunyemi Scholarship Fund, c/o Doran Funeral Home would be greatly appreciated by the family.
