Fort Myers police continue to investigate a homicide at 2275 Central Avenue and need your help.
Police were called to the scene at 2:20 a.m. Saturday morning regarding a disturbance. Once on scene, officers found the victim, identified as James Nelson, 31.
Despite efforts by police and Lee County EMS, Nelson died at the scene, according to Lt. Jay Rodriguez.
Nelson was two days shy of his 32nd birthday.
About half a dozen residents were standing outside the buildings, while uniformed and plainclothes police officers conducted interviews.
Ten others stood across the street, outside a stretch of police tape, watching the investigation . They declined to comment.
