Family members of a man who was fatally shot in a Colorado Springs apartment say he was a former Fort Carson soldier who was suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder after spending a year in Iraq.

Jamarlon "Jamanion" Keys was found with a gunshot wound last Tuesday and died later at a hospital. No arrests have been made in his death.

Keys' ex-wife, Shereece Williams, tells The Gazette the two were high school sweethearts and were married in 2002.

The two split after two years of marriage, but Williams says "regardless of our disagreements over the years, I know he loved his kids and he would do anything for them."

Keys, who Williams says was deployed as an infantryman in Iraq in 2003, was a father of six.
