A Castlewood man died in a two vehicle crash four miles east of Andover, on Thursday, Oct. 23.

Ronald Blair Prigge, 69, of Brownsdale, Minn., was driving a 1970 International Truck east on U.S. Highway 12. He slowed to make a right turn and a 2004 Buick Century driven east by Jacob William Dahl, 19, of Castlewood, S.D., struck the truck from behind. Dahl sustained fatal injuries in the crash. He was wearing a seatbelt. Prigge and a passenger, Howard Arthur Krienke, 71 of Minnetonka, Minn., were not injured. They were wearing a seatbelts.

No further information is immediately available.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating. Day County Sheriff's Office, Andover Volunteer Fire Department, Webster Volunteer Fire Department and Day County Emergency Management assisted.
