A little more than a week after she was last heard from, Shelly Gravely's body was found early Saturday in a ravine in southwestern Henry County.

A Patrick Springs man is being held on $1 million bond in connection with the case.
Anthony Octavius "Skeet" Joyce, 35, of Patrick Springs, was arrested Friday night slightly before midnight in Greensboro, N.C., according to a news release from the Patrick County Sheriff's Office.
Gravely's remains were found on George Taylor Road around 12:34 a.m. Saturday, near the concrete base of Crooked Creek Bridge, Patrick Sheriff Dan Smith said. The bridge is about a quarter of a mile from the Virginia/North Carolina state line.
"She was down a steep bank, on the left side of the bridge (and) closest to North Carolina," he said.
The time and cause of Gravely's death will be determined by the Medical Examiner in Roanoke, Smith said.
Gravely, 34, of South Mayo Drive in Patrick County, was last heard from on Nov. 14. Authorities were contacted just before midnight Nov. 15 and asked to check on her well-being. When they arrived at her home, Smith said the passenger door of Gravely's car and the back door of her mobile home were open.
"A small amount of blood was found in the residence," he said.
Warrants for abduction and robbery were obtained by Patrick authorities, the release added.
The robbery charge stems from an item that allegedly was taken from Gravely while she was inside her home and during the alleged abduction, Smith said. He declined to identify the item.
According to the Patrick news release, Joyce and Gravely had been in a relationship for about two years when she went missing. Smith said they had been dating.
Gravely, the mother of two children, worked at Support To Eliminate Poverty (STEP) Inc. in Stuart. Joyce worked through Ameristaff in Martinsville.
Joyce was picked up on Norwalk Street in Greensboro on Friday, according to online Guilford County Jail records. Those records state that he is being held as a fugitive in the Guilford County Jail on a $1 million secured bond. They list his address as as 55 Dogwood Meadows, Stuart, and state that Joyce is awaiting extradition.
Throughout most of last week, authorities conducted foot searches for Gravely, eventually covering 400-miles or more of roadways in several different areas and jurisdictions.
On Monday, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations executed a search warrant on a vehicle in Greensboro, Smith said.
"They forensically processed the car," he added. It was brought to Patrick County later and is in the impound lot at the sheriff's office, he said of Joyce's vehicle. He did not elaborate.
"I'm just glad that they found her," Carolyn Simmons said on Saturday of Gravely, her co-worker and friend.
Simmons said she knew Joyce through Gravely, but she said she did not know about their relationship otherwise.
In conducting the search and the investigation, Smith has said his office's "resources are stretched to the brink" as officers had been "pouring all of their efforts into finding Shelly. ... The sheriff's office is exhausting all of its resources," he wrote in a release.
On Saturday, Smith said he appreciated the help, and noted the "case would not have been solved without the cooperation and help from multiple agencies."

Sheriff's Office, North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) and the Greensboro Police Department.
