Anderson Swift, the man accused of killing a woman early Wednesday during a carjacking in El Dorado Hills, was arraigned Friday in Placerville.

Swift, 41, entered a not-guilty plea in El Dorado County Superior Court, said Dave Stevenson, spokesman for the El Dorado County District Attorney's Office. He said Swift's next court appearance is scheduled Feb. 2.

Swift, an Oakland resident, is accused of fatally shooting 31-year-old Khrista Ibarolle outside the 39 Handles Irish Pub and Eatery just after midnight. According to the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office, Ibarolle and a friend were leaving the bar about closing time when Swift approached them, demanding cash and car keys. As the women turned to run back toward the tavern, Swift opened fire, killing Ibarolle, deputies said.

Swift allegedly stole Ibarolle's car and was arrested after he crashed into the fence of a home about four miles north on Silva Valley Parkway in El Dorado Hills. He was booked on suspicion of murder, carjacking, vehicle theft and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
