Tatanika Marie Hogan, also known as "Taka," daughter of Wendell Keith Hogan and Diane Clay, was born in San Francisco, CA on November 29, 1976. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age.

Taka received her formal education through San Francisco Unified School District and graduated from Alamo High/Ida B. Wells. She furthered her education by attending Bryman and Heald Colleges where she received certificates and a degree in Medical Office Management. As she pursued her career over the years, Taka worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant, in Financial Management, and as a Mortgage Receptionist for various companies.

Tatanika met and married Lee Farley. This union was blessed with two sons: Tylek and Tiyon Farley. She was later blessed with a third son, Tayvion; and a beautiful daughter, Tayjha, also known as Chika.

Taka relocated to Pittsburg, CA and united with Word on the Move Ministry Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Dr. Ray Richardson. She attended Word on Seminary and Bible College where she was due to receive her Associates Degree in Christian Counseling this May 2013. Taka was a loving mother. Her children were her pride and joy. She loved having family time with them and hosting family gatherings, in which all the neighborhood children would attend. She had a fetish for reading books, loved high-heeled shoes, and was known for her unique style of fashion. As Tatanika's health declined, she was surrounded by her loving family and closed friends.

On Sunday, March 24, 2013, Tatanika Marie Hogan was called home to rest. She was preceded in death by Lee Farley; her mother, Diane Clay; baby brother, Ronald Murphy; and best friend, Tamika Kelly.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories, her children: Tylek, Tiyon, Tayvion, and Tayiha; father, Wendell Keith Hogan; sisters: Trina, Diane, Jacqueline and Ronisha; brothers: Deon, Deshawn, and Bill; grandfather, Willie Jackson; grandmother, Cora Lee Clay; niece, Da Mieyah; nephews: Damon, Deon Jr., Deshawn Jr., Devin, Jadin, and her favorite nephew, Charles "Pooka" Urrutia; great nephew, Damari; great niece, Nyella; her companion, Rachael Marshall and her children: Willie, Olito, and Montez; and a host of other relatives, friends, and church family.
