An 18-year-old Rapid City Stevens High School senior has died of injuries suffered a few days ago when collided with a car while on a motorized scooter.

Police say Nehemiah Larimer was riding his scooter at about 6 p.m. Friday when the collision occurred at the intersection of Sheridan Lake Road and Canyon Lake Drive.

A second scooter rider who was following Larimer stopped in time and was not injured.

Larimer family friend Nick Reid, who was authorized to speak on behalf of the family, says Larimer died Monday evening after his organs were removed so they could be donated.

A police spokesman says the accident remains under investigation and charges are pending against the driver of the car, who was not identified.
