The body of Keyanta Catrice Williams, who has been missing since February, was found Thursday in Alachua after a plea agreement with her boyfriend got him to lead authorities to her.

Williams' body was found in a grassy area off County Road 235A, not far from the Dollar General distribution center where her boyfriend worked.

Kelvin Renard Bryant, 41, was indicted on a first-degree murder charge March 20, despite Williams' body not having been recovered at that point.

Eighth Circuit Public Defender Stacy Scott said Bryant agreed to a plea deal and to help authorities find Williams' body out of respect for her and her family.

"We were approached with the concept of him assisting in helping find the body so that she could have a proper burial. The defendant agreed. He led them right to where she was," Scott said. "He was trying make things right, so we reached a plea agreement with him assisting in that process."

Scott said Bryant has not formally entered a plea. The plea agreement has not been finalized but will be for a length of time that could in essence send him to prison for the rest of his life.

State Attorney Bill Cervone said he began discussing a plea deal after meeting earlier this week with Williams' mother.

Cervone said he was convinced his office would have won a conviction of Bryant but had not considered whether the death penalty would be sought.
