Cynthia Ann Knight Clarke, 45, of Brooks, passed away from natural causes, April 25. She was the first baby born at Woodland Memorial Hospital. She completed high school, as well as attended the UC Davis extension, taking poetry and creative writing classes.
Cynthia served on several commitees for the Yoche Dehe Wintun Nation.
Cynthia was loyal and loving to her family. She loved horses and won several competitions in her lifetime. She enjoyed creative writing, writing poetry and reading a wide range of various literature. She had great interest in Native American Culture and Customs. She played the Native American Flute, studied the Native Wintun Language and she was a great mentor with the organization, Future for Children, sponsoring Native American children and their education. She had a great philantropic spirit. She enjoyed the simple things and had a taste of the finer things in life, including world class cuisine, shopping and buying gifts for everyone she knew and loved. Lastly, Cynthia and her husband, Jeff enjoyed traveling the world with their children as well as many friends. Now, she embarks on this final journey....this time we cannot go with her, but she will stay in our hearts forever. Safe travels Cynthia, you will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her husband of nearly 30 years, Jeffrey Clarke; children, Michael and Preston Clarke; parents, Rocco "Rocky" Knight Sr. and Loretta Kelly; siblings, Rocco Knight Jr., and Bobby Kelly.
Preceded in death by her brother, Billy Kelly.
Visitation service will be held Sunday, May 3 from 6 to 8 p.m., McNary's Chapel, 458 College St., Woodland.
Family would like the color pink to be worn to the Funeral service on Monday, May 4, at 11 a.m., at McNary's Chapel, graveside service to follow at Esparto Cemetery.
