A 20-year-old Belleville woman died this morning after her Honda crashed head-on with a tractor-trailer on a rural road in Monroe County southwest of metro Detroit, according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.
Chabrielle Z. Gollman was driving westbound at about 7:11 a.m. on Oakville-Waltz Road east of Martinsville Road in Exeter Township when the black 2003 Honda four-door vehicle she was driving veered off the north shoulder of the road. Her vehicle returned to the traffic lane before moving into oncoming traffic and collided with a tan 2007 Freightliner tractor-trailer, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.
Gollman was trapped in her vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. The 38-year-old driver of the tractor trailer wasn't injured. Both were wearing seat belts. Neither speed nor alcohol appears to have been a factor, according to the sheriff's office.
The crash is under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office at (734) 240-7715.
