Officials released the name of a man who died in a two-vehicle crash that also seriously injured two others Thursday afternoon in Rapho Township.

Reno Edward Dart, 18, of Manheim, was pronounced dead at 5:52 p.m. at the scene of the accident, said Lancaster County Coroner Dr. Stephen Diamantoni.

A 4-year-old girl in the car also was injured. A male driver of the second car was taken to a local hospital. Both had to be freed by firefighters from the cars.

The crash happened in the 1900 block of Mount Joy Road. The road was closed for hours after the 3:45 p.m. crash.

No one was ejected from either vehicle, Sgt. Aaron Szulborski of Manheim Borough police said.

He said the two vehicles involved were traveling in opposite directions when the crash occurred.

In a press release, borough police said witness statements indicate that the car of the deceased driver entered the lane of the oncoming car.

The accident occurred in a straight stretch between the intersections of Erisman and Weaver roads.
