The Colorado State Patrol identified the woman killed in a wrong-way crash on northbound Interstate 25 near Highway 7 Saturday morning.

Siara Jaramillo, 18, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other people were hurt.

The incident was reported just before 6:30 a.m. Colorado State Patrol says Jaramillo was traveling the wrong direction in a 2007 Silver Kia Rio when she hit a 1994 Toyota Tacoma Truck.

Authorities are investigating drugs and alcohol as contributing factors in the crash.

Jonathan Stanley was on the other side of the highway when he saw the aftermath of the crash. He ran across the highway to help, but it was too late.

"The entire front of the victim's car was crushed to the driver compartment, and the victim in the car was pinned," Stanley said.

Both the driver and passenger of the Toyota – identified as 32-year-old Francisco Garcia and 26-year-old Andres Garcia – sustained minor injuries.

"All of the sudden, she was coming toward me and I couldn't avoid her," Francisco Garcia said.

Following the initial crash, two other vehicles also wrecked. Those drivers were not injured, CSP says.

Anyone who witnessed the wreck is asked to call CSP dispatch at 303-239-4501. Troopers also say someone took video of the crash and its aftermath, they're asked to contact CSP.

During the investigation, northbound I-25 was closed at the Highway 7 exit, causing long delays for many drivers, who were forced to detours on side roads as they headed north.

The highway reopened at around 10 a.m.
