Lifelong Alaska resident Shellane Rose "Shelly" Weigle, 28, passed away on Aug. 4, 2015, at Alaska Regional Hospital due to complications from her lifelong affliction with asthma. A Celebration of Shelly's life was held on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2015, at Center Bowl, where her family and friends gathered. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 14, 2015, at the Cremation Society of Alaska, 7216 Lake Otis Pkwy. in Anchorage, Alaska. Shelly was born on Feb. 5, 1987, in Anchorage. She grew up and attended school in Anchorage. Shelly enjoyed bowling and was a former Anchorage School District Bowler of the Year. She competed in local and national competitions. She was a champion not only in bowling, but also in life. To be a Champion is not easy. She also enjoyed dancing, singing and being the life of the party. Shelly also enjoyed doing many different arts and crafts projects. She was a Christian. Her family wrote, "Shelly was known to be a loving and special person. She was never light on words and was always able to lift spirits of a room, not only with her presence, but her kind words. Her love and concern for others was always evident and indisputable. Shelly was always a giver and even in death, she was a life donor." Shelly is survived by her daughter, Shaylee Capri Rose Reed of Soldotna, Alaska; her mother, Sarah Lee Bybee; father, Robert H. Weigle; brother, Harry V. Weigle; and sister, Kaylee M. Weigle, all of Anchorage; uncle and aunt, Ray and Annette Weigle of Soldotna; and numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins and relatives in Alaska and throughout the United States.
