A 35-year-old Akron woman died Saturday in a two-car crash on Easton Street at the intersection of Columbus Road in Stark County's Nimishillen Township.
Jessica R. Burdeshaw was driving a Ford Fiesta east on Easton Street about 1:45 p.m. Saturday when her car was struck by a Dodge Ram traveling west, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Burdeshaw failed to yield while turning left onto Columbus Road, according to a news release on Sunday.
Burdeshaw, who was not wearing a seat belt, was partially trapped in the car, authorities said. She was pronounced dead at the scene by the Stark County coroner.
The 41-year-old driver of the truck, a 41-year-old front-seat passenger and an 8-year-old boy and 10-year-old girl in the back seat were taken by ambulances to Mercy Medical Center in Canton with non-life threatening injuries, according to authorities. None of the occupants of the truck were wearing seat belts.
No additional information was immediately available Sunday. The crash remains under investigation.
