CHRISTOPHER ALLEN ANDERSON, 38 years of age of the Leemaster Section of Vansant, VA, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2014 at his home following an extended illness. Born in Grundy Hospital, he was the son of Anna L. Anderson, Vansant, VA, and the late Gary Howard Anderson. He was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County, a member of the Big Prater Baptist Church and served our country in the United States Marine Corps. He was a loving father, brother and son, a 1993 Graduate of Grundy High School and was a cook.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his Paternal Grandmother: Emogene Anderson and Maternal Grandfather: Hassell Herman Hager.

Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Anna L. Anderson, Vansant, VA; 3-Children: Austin Anderson, Lebanon, VA, Kristen Anderson, Vansant, VA, Christopher Allen Anderson Jr., Vansant, VA; Paternal Grandfather: Howard Anderson, Vansant, VA; Maternal Grandmother: Marie Hager, Grundy, VA; 1-Sister: Felicia (Kris) Rasnake, Lebanon, VA; 1-Brother: Todd (Laken) Anderson; Special Aunt: Penny Anderson, Grundy, VA; several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral Services for CHRISTOPHER ALLEN ANDERSON will be conducted Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the Big Prater Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Ratliff and Pastor Eddie Lindsay officiating with burial to follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens, Claypool Hill, VA.

Friends may call at the Big Prater Baptist Church Monday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be John Raines, Jeffery Anderson, Carter Burniston, Tony Viers, Tim Gearhart, Tammy Bowman, Jeremy Ratliff and Kenneth Viers.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Gerald Coleman, Employees of Huddle House, Gary Harrison, Michael Sykes, Heath, James Coleman, Bob Coffey, Tom Burniston, Scotty Bostic, Kris Rasnake and Ralph Rowe.

Full Military Rites will be conducted at the cemetery by members of Childs-Gentry Post No. 7360 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
