Authorities on Friday released the names of two young homicide victims who died over the past week after being wounded in separate shootings in Lodi and Stockton.
The San Joaquin County Coroner's Office identified one of the victims as Eduardo Lagunas, 13, of Lodi. The Coroner's Office identified the other victim as Rayshawn Harris, 13, of Stockton.
Lagunas was dropped off at Lodi Memorial Hospital at 1:13 a.m. Feb. 17 with a gunshot wound to the head, authorities said. He was transported to a trauma center in Sacramento, where he remained on life support until Feb. 21, when he was pronounced dead.
Harris was shot shortly before 7 a.m. Monday in the 2300 block of South Sacramento Street, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
Homicide investigators and gang detectives were working together to determine if the shooting was gang related, said Officer Joe Silva, a spokesman for the Stockton Police Department.
