Danielle Christine Sherman departed from this life on Friday, Dec. 19, 2014 after a lifelong battle with cystic fibrosis. She was 22 years old. Family, friends and the entire Gulf Coast community watched her cope courageously with an illness she never allowed to define her.

Danielle, or Dan as friends affectionately called her, was born on August 10, 1992 in Norfolk, VA. She moved to Gautier, Mississippi in elementary school where she made many friends with her kind, gentle spirit and heart for animals. After graduation from Gautier High, Dan inspired many on her double lung transplant journey. Recently, Danielle married the man of her dreams, Jordan Sherman, in a celebration at her family home.

Danielle is survived by her husband, Jordan Sherman her father, Randy Sargent her mother and stepfather, Christy and David Maxwell her grandparents, J.R. and Helen Wilson and Wayne and Maxine Gelinas her brother, Chad ODonnell and her sisters, Sarah Sargent and Micah Maxwell.

Danielle will be cremated and her ashes scattered at a later private venue.

A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014, 6:00pm, at First Baptist Church in Gautier. Friends may visit with her family from 4:005:45 at the church.
