Harrison Jeffrey Mahan, Klamath Falls, died Oct. 9, 2015, at the age of 16. A beautiful remembrance of his life, arranged by the Mahan family and Klamath Union High School, will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, in Pel Court at Klamath Union. Harrison was born in Klamath Falls on March 28, 1999. He attended Roosevelt Elementary School, Ponderosa Junior High School, and Klamath Union High School. Harrison enjoyed a variety of sports, including football, baseball and basketball. He started basketball in the AAU League in fifth grade and continued through his years at KUHS. He also played baseball in the Babe Ruth League as well as for KUHS. His passion for basketball eventually won over any other sport and he enjoyed just playing casually with his friends as much as formal competition. In addition to sports, Harrison enjoyed all sorts of music. He played piano for many years and was accepted into the Syllabus program for gifted musicians. He enjoyed family camping trips and outings, especially when reminiscing on humorous occurrences during those family times, and he always kept the family campfire going. Harrison loved backpacking and hiking and was always blazing the trail ahead of the family to see what lied ahead. He enjoyed casual rock climbing at the Oregon Coast, snorkeling in the tropics, and wakeboarding. Harrison was accomplished at fly fishing and bass fishing from an early age. He was a car enthusiast and aspired to be involved with automobiles in some capacity for a career. Most importantly, he was the ultimate Big Brother. He was protective, thoughtful, and ready to help whenever his siblings needed him. Harrison is survived by father and step-mother Scott and Alicia Mahan; siblings Cassidy Mahan, Nichole, Cantrell, Dakota Neese and Drake Beard; grandparents Eleanor and Ed Mahan, and Virgil and Rosemary Jochim; aunts and uncles Greg and Sandra Mahan, Leslie Mahan-Pigott and Ron Pigott, Lori Mahan and Matthew Watkins, Tasha Flowers, and Colton Jochim. He is also survived by his mother Agnes McKeen; siblings Kyle McKeen and Ellida Rendahl; grandparents Benjamin and Marie McKeen; and aunt and uncle Amy and Shiloh Wilson. He was preceded in passing by his favorite uncle Jeffrey Mahan.
