Dear Friends of Tony

I am sorry to share the sad news that our mutual friend, Tony Thibault, passed away on Sunday (Nov 15) in Santa Domingo. Tony had moved to the Dominican Republic only a week earlier, and was looking forward to a new job there and with it, a second chance at a happy life. As you may or may not know, Tony had serious health issues over the past years, including several lengthy hospital stays. He was optimistic that both his health and his personal quality of life would be improved by the move. Sadly, his health problems had already taken a considerable toll on him. He fell ill only days after his arrival and passed away after a short time in hospital.

A group of his friends are trying to ensure that his mother does not have to bear the burden of the mounting costs associated with this tragedy, and that Tony receives a respectful funeral here in Nova Scotia. It is our hope that those who have known Tony over the years, and remember him fondly, come forward with much needed assistance.
