A man has been charged in the fatal shooting of a 26-year-old woman in west Montgomery Monday.

According to Lt. Denise Barnes with the Montgomery Police Department, Michael Delon Medlock, 47, is charged with murder in the death of Kelandra Stovall.

The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force took Medlock into custody Tuesday. He was booked in the Montgomery County Detention Facility, and his bond was set at $500,000.

According to Barnes, investigators determined the shooting was domestic related, and Medlock and Stovall were in a relationship at some point.

Stovall, of Montgomery, was shot and killed early Monday morning.

Authorities responded to the 1000 block of Day Street at about 3:15 a.m. where they found Stovall suffering from a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead on the scene.
