A Lincoln man missing since Jan. 4, whose disappearance was the subject of an intense social media campaign, has been found dead inside his car.
Craig Baxter, 28, formerly of North Platte, was found in his car at an apartment complex by a passer-by about 2 p.m. Sunday, said Sgt. Jake Dilsaver of the Lincoln Police Department.
Dilsaver said the public information campaign about Baxter's disappearance was key to locating him. The passer-by recognized the license plate of the blue BMW SUV as Baxter's.
The apartment complex where he was found is near 44th and O Streets, which is nowhere near Baxter's home, Dilsaver said.
Details about the cause of death were unavailable. Foul play isn't suspected. An autopsy will be done, Dilsaver said.
