One person was killed in an early morning crash Sunday.

Police have identified the person killed in the accident as 37-year-old Jeremy Dreher of Indianapolis

The fatal crash, involving Dreher's 2009 Toyota Scion, happened near the south split just after 2:00 a.m. Sunday.

According to police, one vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed coming off of 70 eastbound.

Police then said they believe the car may have gone airborne, hitting a guard rail before ending up on I-65 in the southbound lanes.

Dreher was thrown from the vehicle.

Authorities pronounced Dreher dead at the scene.

While the investigation into the wreck continues, police say evidence at the scene indicates alcohol may have been a factor in the fatal crash.
