I didn't know Tracy Crockett on a very personal level. We met through this intricate web of insanity known as the net. Tracy expressed some interest in writing a few pieces for HNR and Addicted to Horror Movies, and we welcomed him into the fold with open arms. It was the right move. The man had a real passion for horror, and I think we all put some value in that.

Tracy suffered from some physical ailments, and he – like most of us – battled a few of the demons that live upstairs. But he stayed as positive as he could, every step of the way, and he was always a pleasant gent while conversing. I think we all put some value in that, as well.

We're quite disturbed this morning, as facebook has been flooded with mushy tributes to a man who deserved a bit more luxury in his ride through life, a man who probably didn't realize how loved he really was. Tracy Crockett passed away in the day's earliest hours, a result of congestive heart failure. He was 42 years old.

We're all feeling the loss.

Whatever it is that comes next, Tracy, we hope it's good to you. You put your time in. You put your passion in. You were very clearly respected and appreciated. You were loved, and you always will be.

See you on the other side, buddy.
