Katherine Jo Lockwood, 30, died April 16, 2016 with her family at her side. Katherine was born in Kissimmee, FL. She was serving in the US Navy, enjoyed arts and crafts, and was an avid lover of Dr. Who and Harry Potter Wizards. She was a staunch supporter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and always participated in their Light to Night events.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Michael E. Long of Portsmouth; son, Cooper Owen Long of Portsmouth; parents, Victor M and Jennifer S. Lockwood of Athens, AL; brothers, Jacob Lockwood and wife Valeriya of Maddison, VA and Lucas Lockwood of Auburn, AL; maternal grandmother, Dean Stewart; paternal grandmother, Lillian Lockwood; close friend who was like a sister, Suzanne Tucker; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and other family and friends.
The family will be celebrating Katherine's life on Friday at 13:00 at Portsmouth Naval Medical Center Auditorium, Building 3. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.altmeyerfh.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, team Lite-Brites (www.lls.org)
