Friends of the victim in a fatal stabbing early Monday morning in Wasaga Beach have identified him as Erick Tello.

Tello, who friends say is 22, is the second person to be stabbed to death this long weekend in the Georgian Bay resort town. An 18-year-old man visiting from Bolton, Ont., Francesco Molinaro, was killed Saturday.

Friends told CBC News Tello, also from Bolton, was an up-and-coming hip hop artist, who went by the name "Don Teyo."

The altercation happened at 3:30 a.m on Monday near Main Street, according to the OPP. Police say Tello was stabbed close to Skull Island, a pirate-themed miniature golf course in the area.

Const. Mark Kinney told CBC News police are investigating the death separately from the other stabbing homicide in Wasaga Beach, that happened Saturday night.
