Kandy Cates, 38, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Monday May 30, 2016 unexpectedly at her home from natural causes following a brief illness.
She was born April 21, 1978 in Blackfoot, Idaho to Andy Wade Cates and Debra Sue Neihart.

She attended elementary school at Irving, Stalker, Mountain View, and graduated from Blackfoot High School. After graduating high school she obtained a degree in Cosmetology from Idaho State University.

She married George Capson in Blackfoot. To this union was born a son Gaige. They were later divorced.

She held various job around town including working at Wells Fargo Bank and was currently working at Sassy Nails and spa.

In her free time Kandy enjoyed playing video games; going to Bear Lake and Island Park; snowmobiling; and she loved watching "Dog the Bounty Hunter".

She is survived by her parents Andy (Rene) Cates of Fort Hall, and Debra Neihart (Gary) Paetsh of Salt Lake City; Adam Coburn her partner for the last eight years; son, Gaige Capson of Blackfoot; brother, Josh Cates (Jennifer Workman) of Pocatello; sister, Ivory Cates of Idaho Falls; and cousins, Rosalyn and Spring, who were like sisters, and her grandmother Nona Cates of Fort Hall.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Arthur and Edna Neihart and Andy Wilson Cates.

A viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave in Blackfoot. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 3, 2016 at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.hawkerfuneralhome.com.
