One person was killed following a following a motorcycle accident Tuesday afternoon in northwest Iowa.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident happened at about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday on the north side of Milford. Dakotah Collins, 19, of Arion, was driving a motorcycle northbound on Highway 71 when a pickup truck pulled out onto the highway.

Investigators said the driver of the truck, Jeffrey Peterson, 28, of Ft. Collins, Colorado, didn't see the motorcycle coming and Collins hit the truck.

Collins was pronounced dead at the scene. Peterson wasn't injured.
