Police have identified the victim of a fatal motorcycle crash this past weekend in Bedford as Grace Gallo, a 21-year-old resident of Merrimack.

"She loved her motorcycle. She talked about it all the time," said Pamela Pickard, one of Gallo's former co-workers. "She was a safe driver, which makes this even so much more tragic."

Gallo was driving a Suzuki motorcycle Saturday afternoon on Route 101 when she struck a 2005 Mercury Grand Marquis driven by William Morin, 92, of Bedford.

Gallo was traveling west on Route 101 at the time of the crash, and police believe she collided with Morin's vehicle, which was traveling east on Route 101 and turning north onto Meetinghouse Road.

"She died at Elliot Hospital on Sunday morning after being ejected from the motorcycle," police said in a statement released Monday.

Lisa Rick, a local prosecutor, said Monday that no arrests have been made in connection with the fatal accident, and that authorities are continuing to investigate. The Bedford Police Department's Technical Accident Reconstruction Team was on the scene of the crash for several hours on Saturday, with a portion of Route 101 closed from about 3:30 to 6 p.m.

The driver of the other vehicle, Morin, was not injured in the crash. Police did not state whether Gallo was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. Several photographs posted on Gallo's Facebook page show her wearing a helmet while posing with her motorcycle.

"This is just devastating," said Pickard, who works at Total Chiropractic Health Center in Merrimack where Gallo had been employed as a licensed massage therapist.

Pickard said Gallo is from a large family, adding that the young woman had several siblings.

"She was good in every way. She was beautiful inside and out," said Pickard. "I have only known her for a few months, but she has impacted me so much. I would often tell her that we need to clone her."

Pickard said it was difficult for the employees at Total Chiropractic Health Center to return to work on Monday after learning of the tragedy.

"It is still pretty hard to even be here and read the notes she left behind," added Pickard.
