A 20-year-old Paola man was found dead Monday afternoon as a result of a one-vehicle accident on 311th Street east of Paola.
Units from the Miami County Sheriff's Office, Johnson County Sheriff's Office, Louisburg Fire Department and Miami County Emergency Medical Services were dispatched at 1:45 p.m. Monday afternoon to 311th Street between Beaver Creek and Pflumm roads.
Upon arrival, it was determined that a 2016 Ford Mustang driven by Cooper Ventress, 20, was traveling eastbound on 311th Street between Beaver Creek and Pflumm roads when the vehicle veered onto the south shoulder and into a field before landing in a creek bed. Ventress was found dead at the scene, according to a news release.
The accident is still under investigation by the Miami County and Johnson County sheriff's offices.
