Authorities Sunday identified a 46-year-old woman killed in a crash on Highway 101 in Ventura.

The woman was killed when her vehicle was hit head-on late Friday by a driver going the wrong way on the highway, authorities said.

The Ventura County Medical Examiner's Office identified the woman as Danielle Chackel, of Santa Barbara. She was trapped in her vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

A 58-year-old Lakewood woman was driving the other car, which was headed south in northbound lanes just after 11:20 p.m., the California Highway Patrol reported.

The CHP was continuing to investigate the crash.
