Amber Nicole Reineck age 33, passed away December 24, 2015 in Lexington Park, MD. She was born in Ann Arbor, MI on May 9, 1982 to David and Rebecca (Ratzlaff) Reineck (now Mayo)
Amber attended schools in Clinton and Saline, MI and Glen Ellyn, IL. She became a licensed massage therapist after high school, and then helped her step father, Gary Mayo, open and launch a Dairy Queen business in Glen Ellyn, IL. From 2007-2015 she went to work for her brother-in-law's company, Atsalis Brothers, Warren, MI, in the industrial painting industry and gained the experience and expertise to become a quality control inspector. She recently was employed with Titan Industrial Services in Baltimore, MD.
Amber was a wild, unique, and beautiful soul. She had the soul of a gypsy, the heart of a hippie, the spirit of a fairy, and the presence of an angel. She personified light and joy to all who crossed paths with her. She was upbeat, sensitive to others' feelings, and gave of herself wherever she could bring her positive light to touch someone's life. She was a loyal friend and could be counted on by others to be there when they were in their darkest hours with her soft touch and comforting words. She loved her family immensely and missed them while working out of state. She had scripted the names of her two daughters and the German word for family in tattoos on her body as a permanent statement as to what was important to her. More than anything on this earth she loved her two daughters, Justice and California, and found her own light and joy in them.
Amber is survived by her beautiful and precious young daughters, Justice Knickerbocker, age 15, and California Galvan, age 11, her parents, Gary and Becky Mayo of Glen Ellyn IL, and David Reineck of Pinckney, MI, her sister, Courtney Atsalakis and brother-in-law, George, of Pinckney, MI, her nieces Keegan Laurent and Berlin Atsalakis of Pinckney, MI, her brothers Benjamin Mayo of Chicago, IL, Joel Mayo of Glen Ellyn, IL, Ryan Reineck of Clinton, MI and Kevin Reineck of Clinton, MI, and her maternal grandmother, Marilyn Williams of Clermont, FL, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She also is survived by those close to her heart, Joyce and Earl Cook of Clinton, MI and Marcy Haggard of Clinton, MI.
Visitation will be Sunday Jan. 3rd from 3-8PM at Keehn Funeral Home, Brighton, MI and services will be held at 10:30AM on Mondy Jan. 4th at Keehn Funeral Home, Brighton.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Amber's memory can be made to The Amber Reineck Children's Education Fund, or to Home of New Vision in Ann Arbor, an organization to help people with substance abuse disorders or Ellie's Place in Ann Arbor, an organization to help children who have lost loved ones.
