"There are far better things ahead than any we leave behind." - C.S. Lewis
After a 15-year struggle with addiction and nearly three years of sobriety, we lost our son, brother, father and friend to a fatal overdose.
Christopher Kenneth Sorensen returned home to our loving Heavenly Father on October 18, 2016. Chris was born August 26, 1974, the son of Greg and Karla Sorensen. He graduated from Viewmont High School in 1992, and then went on to pursue his dream job with the Davis County Sheriff's office where he served for eight years.
In 1994 he married Amy Barton (divorced). He later married Amy Salles (divorced), which brought him his greatest joy in life; that of being a father.
Chris touched many lives with his kind and generous heart. His passion to help others was always his first instinct. Chris was nonjudgmental and had the ability to love unconditionally.
Chris leaves behind a family that loves him very much! His sons; Trae and Camden; his parents; his siblings; Jonna (Kurt) Horn, Brian (Kristen) Sorensen, Cory (Kristin) Sorensen, Jason (Amy) Sorensen. He also leaves behind his grandparents; Rod and Norma Sorensen, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents; Frank and Fay Rankin.
We are very grateful for the many friends that have been there to encourage Chris, cheer him on, and most importantly, give him hope.
" For of all sad words of tongue or pen, the saddest are these: "It might have been!" - John Greenleaf Whittier
