Mitchell Alan Snyder, age 17, of St. Ignace, Michigan, died on October 2, 2015 in St. Ignace. Mitchell was born to Brent Snyder and Debra Brandstrom on November 15, 1997 in Petoskey, Michigan.

Mitchell attended St. Ignace High School where he lettered in football, basketball, and baseball. Mitchell was an active young man who not only played numerous sports, but he also dedicated time to being a mentor helping kindergarteners in Mrs. Janeczek's Literacy Lab.

Mitchell brought so much joy to everyone's day. His funny comments, his jokes, his laugh and his smile. He had one of those rare smiles that made you feel good inside. He was always able to make you feel good even when you were having a bad day. He would say a joke or just stare at you with that grin until he made you laugh. He lived life to the fullest and he appreciated the little things in life. Life came with ease for him and he was just a natural at making people happy.

Mitchell loved being with his family and friends. Mitchell was an avid outdoorsmen who immersed himself in all that the Upper Peninsula had to offer including hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, four wheeling, and many sports.

Mitchell is survived by his mother, Debra (Robert) Brandstrom of St. Ignace; father, Brent (Wendy) Snyder of Moran, Michigan; brother, Tyler Snyder of St. Ignace; sister, Brooke Brandstrom of St. Ignace; girlfriend, Jordan Belleville of St. Ignace; grandparents, Claris Snyder, Robert Pearson, Dorothy Brandstrom, and Marshall and Marilyn Crisp; aunts and uncles, Brian (Sandy) Snyder, Sharron (Larry) Lasley, Faye Belonga, Micheal McMaken, Michael (Amanda) Pearson, Marcell (Dave) Eshelman, Missy (Mike) VanLuven, Tia Radle, Mary (Jim) Nelson, Sally (Rick) Stram, Susan (Dan) Schulz, and Sara (Doug) Nelson; and many cousins, including Lauren (Casey) Morningstar and Landon (Ashley) Snyder.

Mitchell is preceded in death by his grandfather, Warren Snyder; grandmother, Linda Pearson; and aunt, Michelle Shepard.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at 6:00 P.M. at LaSalle High School Gymnasium, West 443 Portage Road in St. Ignace. The school will open at 5:00 P.M.
