According to the Antelope Valley Times and the Lancaster Police Department, Kenneth Elsey, 28, of Lancaster, has been identified as the motorcyclist fatally struck by a drunk driver Sunday evening.

Lancaster PD responded to the incident which occurred at precisely 8:09 p.m. at Avenue L and 15th Street.

Authorities have disclosed that Kenneth Elsey was the operator of a Harley Davidson motorcycle. He had been headed westbound on Avenue L before the driver of a Chevy Avalanche identified as Roland Vaughan, 36, of Lancaster, suddenly pulled out into the path of Elsey triggering a crash.

Per the Antelope Valley Times, Elsey was killed on impact as he was pronounced at the scene.

Police officials were able to determine that Vaughan was clearly under the influence as he was arrested and is currently being held in jail on $1 million bail.
