Weddle, Kristen Leigh (Ferguson) 30, passed away on Feb. 15, 2017 surrounded by family and friends, prayers, and praise music. Kristen was born in Bishop, California on April 23, 1986 to excited and exhausted parents Brian and Shannon Ferguson. Kristen was a precocious and beautiful green eyed, curly-haired lass that was always in a hurry, always had a question, and always quick to help any person or animal that needed love or attention.
She had a gift of hospitality and made many meals and baked goods for people that were healing, lonely, or just needed some comfort. Kristen graduated from Ironwood high school as a distinguished scholar in 2004. She attended the University of Arizona on a full academic scholarship and graduated in 2007 with degrees in French and Creative Writing. During this time she met the love of her life, Phillip Weddle. Knowing that Phillip had four years ahead of him to earn his PharmD, she moved home and quickly earned her MA in education so she could teach while Phillip continued in his schooling. She graduated from Arizona State University in May 2009 and married Phillip two weeks later on May 29, 2009. Kristen always wanted to be a mommy and she and Phillip were so excited to discover that she was pregnant and due to deliver just days after Phillip was to graduate. James Tiberius Weddle was born on May 30, 2013 and the little family of three moved to Houston Texas, in June, for Phillip's clinical residency. Life with a new born, in a new city, and with an extremely busy husband, was difficult but Kristen tried to make the best of it by joining mothers' groups and enrolling James in music and gymnastics classes. Once Phillip completed his residency, the family returned, with joy all around, to Arizona. Kristen leaves behind her husband, Phillip, son James (3), as well as her parents Brian and Shannon Ferguson and her father and mother in-law Mike and Gloria Weddle. Also grieving her passing are her brother and sister-in-law Matthew and Camille, her brother in law and sister in law Mat and Lisa Weddle, and sister in law Jocelyn. She will also be missed by many more relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her infant brother James Butler Ferguson as well as her grandparents, Cecil and Mary Lou Ferguson and grandfather Larry Munns. We rest in the knowledge that Kristen was a stalwart believer in Christ and we rejoice that her redeemed body is whole and that she entered God's kingdom singing his praise.
Services will be held at Oasis Community Church located at 15014 N 56th St, Scottsdale, AZ 85254 on March 11th at 1pm with food and refreshments to follow.
