THE body of a young mother has been found by police in a remote area near Catfish Creek, east of Mt Alma, about 40km southwest of Gladstone in central Queensland.
Police say 25-year-old Hannah Cook from Calliope in Queensland was last seen in the Gladstone CBD around 9am on Monday driving a black Mitsubishi ASX wagon.
She went missing after dropping her child off at school on Monday morning.
Earlier, the abandoned vehicle belonging to Ms Cook was found by police.
Police said officers located the car on Tuesday about 30km west of Ms Cook's hometown of Calliope, near Gladstone.
Police told The Courier-Mail they were unable to release any immediate details on Ms Cook's death.
There are no suspicious circumstances.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
