Carola Beate Washburn, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away on January 28, 2016 at the age of 54. Born on September 16, 1961 in Berlin Germany, she was the daughter of Baerbel Roznowski. Prior to moving to Torrance, Carola attended high school and college in Arizona. She lived in Torrance for the past 30 years, teaching for 20 years in the Redondo Beach school district. Carola recently said that becoming a grandmother was her greatest achievement and proudest moment to date. Her passions were Pugs, Frenchies, and F. Scott Fitzgerald.

Carola is survived by husband Arnold Ong, daughter Kasey Washburn, grandson Hayden Schneider, sister Janet Loh, and brother in law Abderrahim Loh.

Services will be held on February 13, at 1:00 pm in the Chapel at Green Hills Mortuary, 27501 South Western Avenue, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275. The family request that your attire contain color to celebrate Carola's life. The service will conclude at the gravesite for the immediate family only.
