Detroit police are working to solve a mysterious murder that was brought to them by another police agency.

The murder happened near Gratiot Avenue and 7 Mile Road in Detroit. Police are asking anyone with information to call and help them with the difficult case.

Nobody would have known there was a body in the house if another police agency hadn't gotten involved.

The old burned house was barely accessible with all the overgrowth around it. That's where Warren police found the body of a man they'd been looking for after his family filed a missing person's report.

"We've got a body in the house behind me it appears to be shot in the body," Detroit police Commander Charles Mahone said. "He's deceased, and it's a wide open investigation right now."

Police won't say how they found the man's body in the house. Neighbors said the building is a hangout for crack users.
