Zachary Layne Heaton was born October 2, 1993 in Brigham City, Utah. He lived the first 2 years of his life at the Heaton Ranch in Standrod, Utah, before his family settled in the Grandview area of Provo.

Zachary grew up surrounded by good friends, neighbors and family. He loved his multitude of cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents and enjoyed spending time with them. He graduated from Provo High School and attended BYU before serving an LDS mission. He was called to Taipei, Taiwan where he served for one year prior to coming home on medical release. He was reassigned to Riverside, California where he completed his mission. Subsequently, he attended BYU, majoring in Computer Science and worked a short time for TruDigital in Sandy, Utah.

Zac had a strong intellect and enjoyed reading, conversation and contemplation. He loved to serve his family and others. Zac was kind, non-judgmental, had a keen sense of humor and a soft heart for those who were struggling.
