Kenneth M. Pilkus Jr., 27 formally of Shamokin, died Thursday June 8, 2017. Ken was born at Sunbury Hospital, May 6, 1990, a son of Kenneth M. Sr. and Bernadette (Aveilino) Pilkus. He was a graduate of Shamokin Area High School and worked in the Beaver Falls area were he resided.
Ken enjoyed firefighting as a member of the Liberty Hose Co., of Shamokin, and was planning to return to the area and rejoin his brother firefighters and be closer to his daughter prior to his death. He is survived by his father Kenneth Sr. and step-mother, Elaine (Shaffer) Pilkus, of Shamokin; his mother Bernadette, of Middletown; a daughter, Persephone Michele Pilkus, of Shamokin; a step-brother, James Pitcher Jr., of Shamokin; and his grandparents, Bill and AnnMarie Pilkus, also of Shamokin. Donations in Ken Jr.'s honor can be sent to the Liberty Hose Co., P.O. Box 433, Shamokin 17872. PILKUS — A funeral service will be held at noon Tuesday at Farrow Funeral Directors, 240 W Chestnut St, Shamokin.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Northumberland Memorial Park.
