A 22-year-old man was shot to death and a second man was found at the same crime scene with multiple gunshot wounds early Sunday morning, police say.

Authorities identified the deceased man as Phillip S. Smith. The second man's name was not released.

East St. Louis Police Capt. Bobby Cole said Smith was found dead in the driver's seat of a red Chrysler, with multiple gunshot wounds.

According to East St. Louis Police Chief Michael Hubbard, the second man, 20, was found in the passenger's seat, shot multiple times. He was taken to an undisclosed hospital.
