Prior to his death, bodybuilder Rich Piana reportedly used pre-workout powder like a drug.

Piana would snort lines of workout supplements as if it were cocaine, according to a death report obtained by TMZ Sports, with investigators finding white powder at Piana's apartment where he suffered a medical emergency in August.

Authorities spoke to Piana's girlfriend to try to determine what the found powder was. She said it was lemon-lime CON-CRET PRE workout powder, according to TMZ. The powder is a high-caffeine booster.

Police also found 20 bottles of steroids in his home at the time of his emergency.

Officials said it's still unclear what caused Piana's medical emergency. The autopsy was inconclusive, but did show that the bodybuilder had heart disease.

Piana died at the age of 46 after he was placed into a medically induced coma for three weeks in early August. The bodybuilder collapsed in his Florida apartment on Aug. 7. When his girlfriend attempted to revive him, she was unsuccessful and he was then rushed to a nearby hospital.

The bodybuilder was widely recognized on Instagram, where he had over 1 million followers. He would post to promote his "bigger by the day" challenge.

Piana was also outspoken about his previous steroid use. In a YouTube post in 2014, Piana encouraged the use of the drugs for those who had any intentions of becoming bodybuilders.

"If you want to become a professional bodybuilder, guess what - you're probably going to have to f---in' do 'em," he said in the video. "You're not going to have a choice."
