The Barnwell County Coroner's Office says an 18-year-old from Allendale died Tuesday night in a single vehicle accident on Highway 278.

The coroner says Allisa Freeman was prounounced dead around 11:30 pm following an automobile versus tree collision on Highway 278 East near Mt. Olive Circle.

According to the coroner, Freeman was traveling east on Highway 278 when it appears she lost control of the automobile and collided with a tree. She was not wearing a restraint the coroner says.

Toxicology is pending.

The case is under investigation by Barnwell Coroner's Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
